Tips to avoid Tooth Decay
- Brush your baby's teeth twice a day
- Put your child to bed with plain water. Do not let them fall asleep with milk or juice
- Stop nursing when your child falls asleep and wipe the teeth with a clean washcloth
- Do not let your child walk around using a bottle or sippy cup of milk or juice as a pacifier
- Teach your child to drink from a cup at about six months of age
- Stop using a bottle by the time they are 12 - 14 months
- Do not dip your child's pacifier in honey or sugar
